Laura Okazaki
Veterinarian
Born and raised in Honolulu, Dr. Okasaki grew up in the Salt Lake neighborhood just minutes from the local shopping center. Inspired by her grandfather, who was also a veterinarian, she dreamed from a young age of following in his footsteps. Although she once considered a career in teaching, her passion for animals ultimately guided her toward veterinary medicine, and she’s never looked back.
Dr. Okasaki moved to Oregon for college and graduate school, where she spent eight years earning her veterinary education and gaining hands-on experience in the field. During her time there, she adopted two cats, Enoki and Maitake, from the Oregon Humane Society, who helped shape her soft spot for feline patients. She also shares her life with Yumi, her beloved family dog since high school.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Okasaki enjoys crocheting, watching anime, and playing tennis. She loves to travel and has visited Japan twice—her favorite destination that she would gladly return to every year.
As a veterinarian, Dr. Okasaki is dedicated to helping pets feel better and supporting the families who love them. She finds deep fulfillment in seeing patients recover from illness or pain and values the gratitude and trust she receives from pet owners. While she adores working with both dogs and cats, her own pets have given her a special affection for caring for feline companions.
