Mari
Hospital Manager
Mari’s career in veterinary medicine began at the age of fifteen at a local veterinary practice, sparking a lifelong passion for the field. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician with experience spanning General Practice, Neurology, Emergency Medicine, and Oncology.
Originally from Houston, Texas, and raised in Ohio, Mari relocated to Honolulu in 2012, where she further expanded her expertise and professional development at the University of Hawai?i at Manoa. There, she earned a degree in Peace and Conflict Resolution, followed by a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Leadership and Nonprofit Management.
What Mari loves most about veterinary medicine is witnessing the profound bond between people and their pets, especially those who have spent a lifetime together. Her deep appreciation for senior companions is reflected in her own life. She is the proud parent of Lil’ Sumptin’ Cider (affectionately known as Little or Little Bear), an elderly Chihuahua she met when he was brought to the Hawaiian Humane Society for treatment of a fractured leg and pelvis. While Mari once dreamed of owning Doberman Pinschers, Little officially turned her into a devoted “Chihuahua person.”
When she isn’t at the clinic, Mari can often be found kayaking on the ocean, volunteering with Access Surf, or relaxing at home gaming. She truly enjoys the balance and richness of island life.
